Here are some of the dirty tricks that some Multi-level-marketing companies will try:

Stealing your commissions.

Some companies will pass your commission down to your downline if they make a higher commission rate on a given month than you do. If you are with a company  that has a commission structure set up like this, your downline can come in and sweep up your commissions….nice reward for training them, eh?

Carrot and stick motivation tactics

A lot of Multi-level-marketing companies will set the minimum amount of sales you need to make just higher than what most people usually sell in their company. Yes, these Mulit-level-marketing companies know what the average person in their company sells, and they use that figure to determine what  minimum amount of sales you must make in order to  qualifying  for a larger commission bracket….so that you never sell enough to actually make any real  commission.

Failing to mail you your commissions

Mlmer, do you take the time to calculate what your commissions are? Do you really do the math each month? Many of you don’t, which is exactly what many MLM companies expect you to neglect. Don’t think they’d do this? Just ask around (though, ahem, I’m sure YOUR company would NEver do that!)

Going out of Business

Sadly, many MLM companies never get off the ground, so to speak. Once they do gain momentum, they may be only a few lawsuits away from losing it all. This is very concerning, as many MLMs provide the best profit potential to the very newest arrivals. It’s a delicate balance choosing a company that is new enough to be profitable, tempered with the age it takes to be solid. What do I mean exactly? Well, many MLMs are structured so that those who get on board first get the highest commissions. In other words, often if you join an MLM that is saturated, you won’t make as much profit as if you’d signed on early in its history.

The long and short of it is, many MLMers jump from one opportunitiy to the next newest one, hoping to make a profit, or to leave a burning ship before it sinks.

Conclusion:

Joining an MLM in the infancy of its formation can be very lucrative, if you do your homework and find that the company appears to be solvent.

Alright, MLMer, you’ve tried it all. You’ve read it all. And you’ve been to all the meetings. If you’ve attended all of the self help sessions you can stand, and read every motivational book out there, but still don’t have the results you are looking for, then you may want to try hooking the divine up with your efforts.

Keep the main thing the main thing

Is your life in balance? Do you have time with your family? How are your devotions each morning (prayer time, Bible time)? If you think you are lacking in these areas, work on them first. He promised us that He would add all of these things to us if we seek His kingdom first. But really, how many of us do that? Do we read His word? Do we spend time with Him in the morning? If you aren’t putting Him first, do that first.

ask God to bless your business and to show you a plan for your business.

So many people ask others for advice, but shouldn’t we go to God first…. and listen?  He promises He will be there to guide us if we seek Him with all our heart.

seek the scriptures for some light on your business situation (God speaks through His word)

It’s amazing how many times the Almighty will really speak a spot on word to us through His written word, if we just humble ourselves and expectantly search the scriptures.

knock–Put feet to your prayers and work the plan that God gives you

When, and only when you are confident God has put an actual business plan in your soul, go ahead and work that plan. Yes we can pray and read the scriptures, and yes we definitely need to make sure that our business has the right place in our lives. But at the end of the day, we need to “put feet to our prayers” and go out and make it happen. He promised to be with us each step of the way, if we put Him first.

Why people are scared to sell on the phone.

 

The number one reason that people are scared to sell on the phone, is fear of rejection. The second biggest reason is the fear of being asked a question that the salesperson is not prepared to answer.

If you think about it, good salespeople do not have these issues. Let’s talk about it: I want you to think of the most successful salesperson you know of. If you are in an MLM (multi-level marketing company), then you want to think of the guy at the top, that outsells everyone, every month.  Now just for a moment, I want you to ask yourself this question; could you ever in a million years think of a situation where this guy or gal would be nervous about someone hanging up on them? Because if they are like most highly successful salespeople, their confidence is running over; they are brimming with self confidence, and it shows. So it would be hard to imagine them ever wincing at the thought of being rejected.

Now, let’s move onto the second scenario. To be fair, we need to “tweak” this question a bit, to apply it to this mega-salesperson’s situation. That second reason I gave you for people fearing the phone, is the fear that they will not have an answer to a question that someone throws them on the phone call. And if you think about it for a moment, it really  doesn’t seem fair to compare the new MLMers fear with that of  the top guy,  when you consider the top leader’s experience and knowledge base. After all, if you knew everything there was to know about your MLM, you’d be confident too, right? Well, not necessarily. Because the truth is, most MLMs have something troubling about their history–but you just don’t know about it…yet.  But Mr. Joe Moneybucks who’s been in this thing awhile, he could tell you all about your MLMs lawsuits, or about some “diamonds” at the top who ripped people off and then relocated…to the South Pacific. MLM Madness
